Description:
Find is a visual narrative game and it was my first Unity project during my first year Game Design course. It was created by Haoyu Liu and myself (Kitty Chen). We desired to make a narrative game with playable functions that could provide players with a magic space that offered more enjoyment. It’s available at https://cheshuic.itch.io/find (I suggest using the full-screen).

About the Game:
You received an odd picture from an anonymous person, and he/she called your name. You always feel someone is watching you, but you just moved to a new city to start a new life, so you couldn’t afford to move again. Can the stranger be trusted, or is he dangerous? You have to figure it out through social media!

Role
Programmer:
My team didn’t know much about Unity Engine in the first year, but it was compelling to us as it could display our game in a high-performance way in Fungus. We decided to learn Fungus within the entire semester. I watched the whole tutorial session on Youtube, and I finally completed the project with all the elements that we expected. As it involved a mini questionnaire that could lead to different endings, we did self-tests frequently to adjust and fix the accumulative point system and ensured its accuracy.

Project Manager:
As we had an entire semester (13 weeks) to develop the project, I took responsibility for planning the pipeline for our project. The project involved many aspects and features, and due to the barriers of Unity Engine, I took into account those situations to create our schedule plan and project progression. In order to make a proper workload, we had regular meetings to report our own progression.

Audio Editor:
Based on various plots, I found appropriate background music and sound effects to enhance the atmosphere and depict scenes. I edited all audio into proper lengths and volumes on Adobe Premiere Pro, and then imported them in the correct format into Unity.

Takeaways:
1. Having a thorough project plan is very important, and it will provide a sense of time management.
2. Self-playtest will give you and your team more confidence about the project, and the more the repetitions of the process, the higher the gains.
3, Do not be afraid to learn new things, and you will benefit one day.
